I have two of my girls Kaylee and Natalee ages 12 & 10 taking classes with Christina, they started taking from her since 2014. I decided to take both of them to vocal lessons and Natalee my 10 years old also takes piano lessons. I must say, christina helped my girls improve so much since they started. I love how she is so patient with them and works on techniques to help them improve in places that needs more work. She also helps them with stage presence before any performances. With piano, Natalee had no knowledge about it in the beginning but since taking from Christina, she learned so much. Christina teaches how to read notes. We never knew how important that was until now. I would highly recommend Christina, she has a lot of knowledge in music and I can’t thank her enough for always helping my girls. She is sweet, loving and very patient. Kaylee had won, Hawaii Stars 2014, Brown Bags to Stardom Overall Champion 2016, Iolani Vocal Talent contest 2016, Hawaii Stars Champion Division 2017. Natalee & Kaylee won Iolani Talent contest band divisions where Natalee plays the piano and Kaylee sang and they also harmonized. Natalee made it to the Hawaii Stars Finals in 2017. With Worship Team auditions coming up, I was interested in trying out, yet at the same time hesitant, fearful and lacking confidence. Bad vocal habits caused me to go flat, sing in a weak head voice and strain. There was also the problem of the removal of part of my diaphragm due to 4th stage cancer. I desperately needed vocal instruction and coaching to move forward! After doing some research I found Christina. Our consult was brief and to the point. From our initial discussion of my concerns and goals, to our every session, she was on spot with her observations, responding to my strengths and deficiencies, leading me into a stronger, more disciplined voice. She had a keen ear, listening well not only to the accuracy of my voice, but able to perceive my comments and respond to them with candor. I definitely recommend Christina as a vocal coach and instructor! She has the training and knowledge in music theory and mechanics necessary to coach and teach well and the skill and experience to deliver it effectively, all with the heart of a worshiper! I couldn’t be more pleased in having invested my time and money into voice lessons with her! After lessons with Christina I gained the confidence I needed to step out. I am excited and privileged to be a member of my church’s worship team and have a great desire to lead worship in excellence! Christina started teaching our oldest daughter (5 years old) after failed classes at another piano school. She simply wasn't learning with the previous teacher, so we moved to the Kroc center and we were placed with Christina. Right away we saw a big change in our daughter. There were no more tears when we practiced, she WANTED to learn and would practice way more often than scheduled. After a few months of seeing such improvement, we decided to sign our youngest daughter up with Christina too. She wasn't quite 4 years old, so we were nervous but Christina just clicked with her. We continued with Christina until we moved from the island after nearly 3 years. Our daughters have learned way more than just piano with Christina, they have a love of music and a drive to do better in life. Both amateur and aspiring professional singers will benefit from vocal lessons provided by a professional singer AND professional voice instructor, especially one such as Christina Brown-Kiriakos, gifted in teaching children, youth, and adults with a range of vocal abilities.  Before taking lessons from Mrs. Brown-Kiriakos, my then eleven-year old daughter Kelly-Ann had difficulty singing on key, maintaining rhythm and timing, controlling her breath, holding her posture, and hitting some of the notes in the higher registers. Under Mrs.  Brown’s guidance, Kelly-Ann practiced vocal exercise that enhanced her vocal range, helped her to control her breath, hold her posture, and project her voice so that she can now sing songs that she previously would not have attempted.  Most importantly, vocal instruction, encouragement, and hours of practice gave Kelly-Ann the confidence to perform before an audience—at her recital, in worship, as part of a competitive choir (Encore), and most recently at a music camp.  In addition, vocal instruction has encouraged Kelly-Ann to learn musical instruments such as ukulele, guitar, and piano to be used as accompaniments to singing.  Vocal instruction from Ms. Brown would be a precious gift to oneself or to any child desiring to use his or her voice for personal enjoyment and/or to benefit others.  And it may be one’s first step to The Voice or America’s Got Talent.   -Carl I.

I Strongly recommend music lessons with Christina! She is a very gifted singer, vocal teacher, and an awesome piano teacher! She definitely knows how to lead her students in their learning process. She's super fun and sweet too! We "love" Christina. Before taking lessons my kids had no confidece to perform in front of other people, today when I look at my children; Sophia, and Noah playing piano and singing at church with passion and confidence, I certainly know that it has been worth it, and I feel just so extremely blessed by it. -Carmen B.

It has been an amazing experience to take lessons from Ms. Christina. Over the past two years as her student, I have seen amazing changes in my singing and in my everyday life, and felt welcomed every lesson.
